62nd Manila FAME | October 2015

Manila FAME, a design & lifestyle event, is bi-annually held in the Philippines to showcase local craftsmanship and design innovation. The highlights of this trade show are designs of locally and internationally renowned craftsman and designers such as Michael Cinco and Kenneth Cobonpue.

Going on it's second event this year, Manila FAME exhibits products for home and offices such as furnitures, gift items and holiday decor. It would be an ideal visit during this time of the year especially if you're planning to decorate your home this coming holidays. Manila FAME also showcase items from fashion and textile design. There will be a display of authentic and locally made items in which foreign as well local importers could greatly take advantage of. Some of the exhibitors would also showcase or explain how the items are made or what their products are made of. Which is why I think aspiring designers and students of the related industry can also benefit from this trade show.

Paghahabi – the art or process of weaving, is one of the major processes of making Filipino craft. Taken from Manila FAME 2014, this video below shows how the Paghahabi ng sinulid (Weaving of Thread) is done.
